Mr. Schwartz's diverse background allows him to handle a broad array of litigation-related matters. With a focus on securities, he represents brokerage firms, investment banks, hedge funds, and registered representatives in customer disputes and regulatory actions. He also assists financial institutions in resolving complex controversies filed in state and federal courts.
In his commercial practice, Mr. Schwartz serves as counsel in a variety of matters at both the trial and appellate levels, including class action lawsuits. These cases routinely involve breaches of contracts and warranties, product liability, negligence, the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, fraud, and fiduciary duties.
As a member of the firm's Insurance Litigation group, Mr. Schwartz also investigates and defends first-party homeowners' insurance claims.
While in law school, Mr. Schwartz was the Research Editor for the University of Florida Journal of Law & Public Policy, a member of the Dean's List, earned Book Awards for the highest grades in his Legal Research & Writing and Comparative Constitutional History courses, and was recognized for his commitment to pro bono service. In addition to interning for a United States senator, he clerked for the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Florida, the Office of the Public Defender for Florida's Eighth Judicial Circuit, and an illustrious circuit court judge in Florida's Seventeenth Judicial Circuit.
