Biography

Jon assists technology, science based and other companies in all aspects of achieving commercial success. He represents companies and individuals around the world in joint ventures, technology transfer, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, international law and securities law. Jon is a past Co-Chair of the Firm's Life Sciences Practice Group and Technology Transactions Practice Group.

Notable Experience

· Jon represents U.S. and non-U.S. biotech, pharmaceutical, research tool and medical device companies in transactions involving collaborations such as vaccines, drug delivery technologies, therapeutics, diagnostics, blood products, cardiology, antimicrobials, genomics and research tool technologies.

· Jon represents U.S. and non-U.S. biotech, pharmaceutical, research tool and medical device companies in venture financings, mergers and acquisitions.

· Jon represents software games and interactive media companies in a number of matters, including project development transactions, startups, and early and late stage financings and acquisitions. Jon has worked on such game titles as Empire Earth II, Empire Earth III, Bully, Star Trek Legacy, Dungeon Siege, Legends of Aranna, Expansion Set, Empire Earth II: the Art of Supremacy, Jane's Attack Squadron and Star Trek: Armada II.

· Jon is regularly involved in licensing research institution technologies to private companies for both companies and research institutions. For example, in 2004, represented a major university in a license to a major U.S. pharmaceutical company of a new drug treatment for hot flashes associated with menopause, as reported under "Big Deals" in IP Law and Business (January 2005).

· Jon represents clients in outsourcing, enterprise software, IT integration in all transactions including acquisitions and contracts.

· Jon represents specialized lenders in loan, project finance and other transactions in the food and agricultural industries.

· Jon has represents hotel developers in the project bid and development process including the negotiation of management agreements and financing.
