Jon's practice focuses primarily on health law, largely acting on behalf of physicians or physician organizations. His work includes general counsel and administrative work as well as defence litigation.
Jon also practices in the areas of commercial litigation and municipal law.
In addition to appearing before all levels of court in Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut, as well as the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Canada, Jon has appeared before a variety of administrative panels and boards including the Workers' Compensation Appeals Tribunal, Municipal Subdivision and Development Appeals Tribunals, Liquor Control Board hearings and Professional discipline hearings.

Representative Experience
· Acts as legal counsel to the Alberta organization representing medical Residents, including assistance in arbitrating funding agreements as well as general counsel.
· For over a decade has provided legal assistance to physicians in the Northwest Territories and, to an extent, in Alberta, on behalf of a national medical defence organization.
· Represents a number of municipalities in the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Alberta in relation to regulatory and enforcement issues.
· Has represented individuals and corporations on a variety of development matters in various municipalities throughout Alberta.
· Provides assistance to a variety of regulatory boards and panels on administrative law issues.
· Provides advice to physicians on practice-related issues including funding arrangements, privacy matters and risk management.
· Has developed an expertise in health-related privacy issues, primarily in relation to Alberta's Health Information Act
