Jonathan is an Associate practicing in the Corporate & Securities Section of the firm's Boston office. Previously, Jonathan served as a 2008 summer associate.
Prior to joining Mintz Levin, Jonathan served as deputy general counsel to the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC). From September 2009 until January 2010, he was the sole legal team member and handled all legal matters, including drafting and closing two financing deals for cleantech startup companies, negotiating a construction agreement for the world's largest wind turbine test center, and working out an agreement between MassCEC and the Department of Energy Resources for the deployment of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds to assist building owners with solar installations.
When MassCEC assumed responsibility for the Renewable Energy Trust in January 2010, Jonathan helped coordinate the merger of these two entities, drafting memoranda of understanding, other interim agreements, and new employment paperwork as well as helping to establish policies for the larger agency. He continued to negotiate and close financing deals, including deals with most of the Massachusetts-based recipients of the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) awards, as well as large jobs-creation deals with major public companies in the cleantech sector. In addition, with the Renewable Energy Trust, he worked on a number of programs that provide assistance to citizens and companies looking to build energy-generation facilities, such as solar, wind, and hydro-electric plants.
Jonathan is admitted to practice in Massachusetts. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was an executive editor of the Law Review. He received his B.S. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
