Biography

Jordan specializes in the defense of product liability and toxic tort litigation for many of the world's leading manufacturers of specialty chemicals, petrochemicals, paint and coatings, ammunition, automobile parts, and industrial and consumer products as a member of the Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation industry team. His experience spans from drafting complaints and responsive pleadings in complex litigation to authoring appellate briefs. He has extensive motion practice experience and has authored persuasive motions to dismiss major litigation in state and federal courts. Jordan has handled all levels of discovery, including e-discovery, and has argued discovery-related motions before a variety of courts.

Jordan has defended hundreds of mesothelioma and lung cancer cases pending in Illinois, Missouri and numerous other jurisdictions. His experience overseeing the day-to-day management of dozens of active cases includes developing defense strategies; managing discovery; deposing fact witnesses, experts and treating physicians; and preparing cases for trial.

In addition, Jordan regularly handles litigation in other areas, including employment discrimination, contract disputes, medical malpractice, intellectual property and ethics complaints. He has obtained numerous dismissals for his clients. Jordan has also represented two firm clients as plaintiffs in separate fraud cases; between the two matters, he has secured and collected more than $2 million in settlement payments. Jordan recently obtained a unanimous defense verdict on behalf of an anesthesiologist in a wrongful death jury trial in St. Louis County - a verdict that was recognized as one of the top defense verdicts of the year by Missouri Lawyers Weekly.

Jordan also handles numerous pro bono cases. He counsels individuals on a variety of legal issues through the firm's relationship with Grace Hill Settlement House, routinely represents tenants in unlawful detainer actions through the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri's Volunteer Lawyers Program, and has represented juveniles in criminal actions before the Circuit Court of the City of St. Louis, Juvenile Division.
