José E. Quiñones León

He obtained a law degree at Universidad Rafael Landívar in Guatemala in 1992, and a Master degree in Business Administration and Corporate Finance at the Simon School of Business of the University of Rochester, USA in 1995. Before co-founding Quiñones, Ibargüen & Luján, S.C. he acquired extensive litigation and corporate law experience working at a civil and mercantile court, and later as associate and partner at a reputable law firm in Guatemala. He is a Designee Arbitrator for the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). He has also served as director for several financial and industrial institutions, the Center for Corporate Social Responsibility, the Guatemalan Branch of the Association Internationale De Droit Des Assurances (AIDA). He has taught commercial contracts and financial law at Universidad Francisco Marroquín since 1997. His practice areas include Mergers & Acquisitions, Civil and Commercial Litigation & Arbitration, Banking, Tax, Insurance and Securities Law.
