Biography

Josée Dumoulin practices exclusively in pension and benefits law since 1997. She advises employers and pension plan administrators on all legal issues in this area, including pension plan administration and governance, statutory compliance, changes to benefits, pension plan splits and mergers, contribution holidays, use of surplus assets, multi-jurisdictional pension plan issues and changes to benefit programs. She also represents clients before the courts, specialized arbitrators and the Tribunal administratif du Québec in litigation involving her area of expertise and works closely with members of the firm's Business Law Group and Insolvency and restructuring Law Group on the pension and benefits aspects involved in corporate transactions and insolvencies.

Ms. Dumoulin was called to the Québec Bar in 1992 and is a current member of the Quebec Regional Council of the Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute (CPBI) and a member of the Editorial Board of Pension Planning, a quarterly journal published by Federated Press. She has published many articles in her field, and is frequently sought as a speaker by various organizations such as the Canadian Institute, Federated Press and Insight Information Co. Her most recent articles and presentations have dealt with the following topics:
