| Biography | Joseph Conneely is a partner in our Intellectual Property Group in Toronto. Mr. Conneely has a general Intellectual Property practice with a focus on patent and industrial design prosecution and related licensing, due diligence, infringement, validity, and freedom-to-operate analyses. He advises clients in the hi-tech, industrial, and fashion industries with respect to the protection of their inventions and designs. As a professional engineer for many years in Ontario's electrical industry, he gained experience in a wide range of technical and design areas including software, graphical user interfaces, and electrical, mechanical, and communications systems. Mr. Conneely is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Professional Engineers Ontario, the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He received his B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering in 1985 from McMaster University, his MBA in 1992 from the University of Toronto and his LLB in 1993, also from the University of Toronto. Mr. Conneely was called to the Ontario bar in 2001 and is a registered patent agent in both Canada and the United States. |
