Joseph D. Evans received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, cum laude, from Utah State University in 1970 and a Juris Doctor degree (with honors) from George Washington University Law School in 1974. He is a member of the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and other federal courts, as well as the District of Columbia and Virginia Bars, and he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Since completing law school, Mr. Evans has engaged in the practice of all aspects of intellectual property law, with particular emphasis on the chemical and mechanical arts, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, design patents and trademarks. From 1985 to 1994 he was an instructor for the PRI Advanced Patent Preparation and Prosecution seminars. He also is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and of the VPP (Verein Patentanwälte & Patentassoren). Mr. Evans is fluent in the German language.
