Jody Barrett is a principal with the law firm of Ramsey, Thornton & Barrett, PLC and managing member of Dickson Title, LLC.
Mr. Barrett is a native of Dickson County and graduated from Dickson County High School in 1992. He received athletic and academic scholarships to attend Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, where he graduated in 1996 with a B.A. in History. While at LMU Mr. Barrett served as captain of the varsity golf team, a member of the varsity soccer team, President of the Student Government Association, Lincoln Ambassador, and Legislative Intern to Rep. Pete Phillips and the House Calendar and Rules Committee of the 99th Tennessee General Assembly. Mr. Barrett earned his law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law in Oxford, Mississippi in 1999.
Mr. Barrett's practice includes both residential and commercial real estate transactions, estate planning and probate, landlord and tenant issues, along with various types of civil litigation. His clients include Bank of Dickson, Dickson Housing Authority, Dickson County Emergency Communications Board, Dickson County Industrial Development Board, and he has worked with virtually every real estate agent and lending institution in and around Dickson County. Mr. Barrett has also served as County Attorney and Counsel for the Dickson County School Board from 2002 to 2006.
Mr. Barrett is a member of the Tennessee and Dickson County Bar Associations, the Mississippi Bar Association, the High Noon Rotary Club, First Baptist Church of Dickson, and serves as Board Chair of the Dickson County Family YMCA Volunteer Board.
Mr. Barrett is married to the former Ms. Holly Sacksteder of Shelbyville, Kentucky. The couple enjoys spending time on their farm in southern Dickson County with their daughters, Avery and Erin, and their son, Beau.
