Joseph P. Ward represents businesses in a variety of corporate and securities matters. His practice includes mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, leveraged buy-outs, venture capital and other private debt and equity investments, spin-offs, joint ventures, the formation of private investment funds, and the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements. Joe also provides general corporate advice to both private and public companies regarding corporate governance and Maryland corporate law.
Joe also has experience representing emerging biotechnology companies on a variety of issues, including entity formation, employee and consultant compensation, and private debt and equity financings (including financings qualifying under the Maryland Biotechnology Investment Incentive Tax Credit).
Joe founded the Business Law Society at the University of Maryland School of Law, was on the School's National Trial Team, and was the Managing Editor of The Business Lawyer.
