| Biography | Joshua (J.D.") Baker is a counsel in O'Melveny's Silicon Valley office and a member of the Securities Litigation Practice. J.D. is also a member of The American Lawyer's 2004 "Litigation Department of the Year." His practice focuses on securities litigation and pre-dispute counseling involving the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995, the Uniform Standards Act, the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, investigations initiated by the Securities and Exchange Commission, shareholder derivative actions, breaches of fiduciary duty, and state securities law and common law claims concerning the purchase and sale of securities. J.D.'s practice also covers all stages of commercial litigation, including arbitration, mediation and pre-dispute counseling, involving breaches of oral and written contracts, fraud and misrepresentation, other business torts, copyright and trademark infringement and unfair competition.
