Biography

Josh is an associate in the Boston office. His practice involves complex civil litigation. He represents clients in state and federal courts and arbitration proceedings across the country on a wide variety of issues. Josh's clients include automobile finance companies, mortgage companies and insurers. Josh has particular experience with securities and consumer class actions, and international commercial disputes.

Notable Experience

· Josh successfully represented an international manufacturer in a nationwide class action in federal court involving equipment leases. Josh continues to represent the manufacturer in contract disputes around the country.

· Josh represented several automobile finance companies and other entities in connection with class action suits brought under Massachusetts and New Hampshire consumer protection statutes.

· Josh successfully defended a class action brought against a national bank concerning its ATM fee disclosures.

· Josh successfully defended a national retailer in several class actions brought under Massachusetts' consumer protection statute.

· Josh represented a publicly held corporation in a large class action securities fraud case. The court dismissed all of the plaintiffs' claims.

· Josh represented a design firm in a month-long federal court trial against a large hedge fund. The court issued a multi-million dollar award for Josh's client.

· Josh successfully represented a U.S. manufacturer in a contract and fraud suit against a Swiss company and its U.S. subsidiary.

· Josh brought a successful motion to dismiss all the claims in a suit concerning a partnership formed to acquire positions in a French conglomerate.

· Josh has represented insurers in state and federal court with respect to coverage issues.

· Josh has represented clients in FINRA proceedings, securing dismissals both before and at hearings.

Before Edwards Wildman

While in law school, Josh was a Managing Editor of the Cornell International Law Journal. Josh also served as a fellow for Cornell's first-year legal methods program, and as a teaching assistant for an undergraduate law class. During law school, Josh worked for a local criminal judge and a state assemblyman.

Before law school, Josh studied political science in Norway on a Fulbright Scholarship.

Besides Edwards Wildman

Joshua enjoys cross-country and telemark skiing, and is an avid fly-fisherman.
