Juan Loumiet has been a member of Greenberg Traurig since 1977 and has more than 30 years of experience handling domestic and international real estate transactions, as well as corporate and financing transactions. He is former Co-Chair of Greenberg Traurig's Miami Real Estate Department and was the founder of Greenberg Traurig's bankruptcy practice. In his real estate practice, he regularly represents developers of high-end resorts and mixed-use projects in the U.S. and the Caribbean, negotiating a wide variety of complex joint ventures, hotel and resort management agreements, loans, and leases. Juan has also served as counsel to financial institutions involved in construction, development and permanent loans for major projects, numerous national and foreign property owners and developers, and hotel companies. In addition, he has underwritten title insurance policies issued for properties acquired or financed in numerous Caribbean and Latin American jurisdictions. He has been involved as counsel in numerous bankruptcies representing debtors, creditors and acquirers. He has also represented automobile dealers in transactions for over 30 years.
