Julia Franklin is an associate in the firm's Washington, D.C. office, where she practices in the Litigation and White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement Groups.
Julia has represented a security contracting firm in a federal trial against alleged violations of the False Claims Act, resulting in a jury verdict for the defense on all counts.
Other recent work includes representation of victims of terrorism in litigation under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, representation of a federal official in a Bivens action, and representation of a health care company in an ERISA action.
Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Julia clerked for the Honorable Alvin W. Thompson, Chief United States District Judge for the District of Connecticut. Julia received her J.D. in 2009 from the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as the Executive Articles Editor of the Michigan Journal of Race & Law and President of the law school's chapter of the American Constitution Society. Julia graduated from Yale University in 2003 with a B.A. with Honors in History.
Prior to law school, Julia served as staff to U.S. Senator Patrick J. Leahy and the late U.S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.
