Julia Dougherty is an associate in the Chicago office of Mayer Brown's Real Estate practice. She practices commercial real estate and has experience in real estate financing, acquisition, disposition, development and leasing. She has represented commercial banks, developers, investment firms and other corporate entities, including not-for-profit corporations.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2010, Julia worked as a fellow at the International Human Rights Law Institute, where she identified, researched, and prepared grant proposals pertaining to human rights violations in Latin America, western European countries and the Middle East. During law school Julia served as a judicial extern in the chambers of both the Honorable Charles P. Kocoras of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Honorable Thomas E. Hoffman of the Appellate Court of Illinois, First District in Chicago, Illinois.
