Juliamai Giffen is an associate in our Business Law Group in Calgary. Ms. Giffen's practice focuses on corporate finance, corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions and securities law. Ms. Giffen's transactions include equity and debt financings (both public offerings and private placements), corporate reorganizations, takeover bids, plans of arrangement and asset and share acquisitions and dispositions.
In recent years, Ms. Giffen has been:
ˇ engaged by a medium sized Alberta based energy trust in association with a number of public financings, plans of arrangement, asset acquisitions and corporate governance matters;
ˇ engaged by a number of oil and gas companies in association with public financing activities, plans of arrangement, asset acquisitions and corporate governance matters;
ˇ engaged by underwriters on a number of public offerings and private placements; and
ˇ engaged by a junior oil and gas company in connection with its successful reverse takeover of a junior oil and gas issuer.
Ms. Giffen is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association and the Calgary Bar Association.
Ms. Giffen received her BA from the University of Calgary in 2000, and her LLB from the University of Alberta in 2004. She was called to the Alberta bar in 2005.
