Kakoli Caprihan focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation, appeals and counseling. She has represented clients in various federal district courts, the federal circuit, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and in arbitration.
Kakoli has broad experience in varying aspects of litigation, including fact discovery, depositions, expert discovery, discovery motions, summary judgment motions and other pleadings, settlement discussions, mediations, binding arbitration, trial preparation, direct and cross-examination of fact witnesses, and appellate briefs.
Prior to joining the firm, Kakoli was an associate with the litigation practice of a Washington D.C.-based global law firm.

Significant Representations
· Represented an international neuropathology drug firm in a patent infringement action brought by a privately held, research-stage biopharmaceutical company. The District Court granted summary judgment for client and stayed further action pending the outcome of U.S. Patent Trade Office (PTO) reexamination proceedings instituted by client.*
· Represented an international neuropathology drug firm in a Hatch-Waxman patent infringement action involving a leading generic drug manufacturer's request to market a muscle relaxant product.*
· Represented an international neuropathology drug firm in a Hatch-Waxman patent infringement action involving a U.S.-based developer and manufacturer of targeted generic prescription pharmaceutical's request to market a muscle relaxant product.*
· Represented a leading cigarette paper manufacturing company in an International Trade Commission case.*
· Represented a major biotechnology company in a District Court patent infringement case involving a monoclonal antibody used in the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections.*
· Represented an international pharmaceutical company in a patent infringement action against a leading manufacturer of recombinant and plasma-based proteins used to treat hemophilia; ultimately resolved through arbitration.*
