Kara Cormier is an associate in the Litigation Department of Edwards Wildman.
· Kara was the primary associate, researching and drafting briefs, motions, letters to opposing counsel, and discovery documents, as well as sorting through discovery and production for a trade secret misappropriation case involving a money remittance system provider. In particular, Kara successfully drafted a motion to dismiss, which dispensed with two out of four claims against her client. This case settled favorably.
Before Edwards Wildman
Before joining the firm, Kara attended Georgetown University Law Center where she worked on the Georgetown Law Journal and its affiliated American Review of Criminal Procedure, an annual publication highlighting American criminal law. She also worked for a small DC law firm as a litigation associate handling IP and trade secret misappropriation matters. Over the summers of law school, Kara worked at the Boston Police Department in the Office of the Legal Advisor. She also worked for an International firm based in New York and an International firm based Boston.
Besides Edwards Wildman
Outside the practice of law, Kara enjoys hiking and cycling. She also enjoys carpentry, including building new furniture and refinishing or rehabbing old pieces.
