Biography

Karen Axt concentrates her practice in the area of intellectual property, specifically patents and trademarks. She has experience in litigation, in particular, Hatch-Waxman litigation, patent and trademark procurement, licensing, rendering opinions, and client counseling. Her work is focused on the medical device and pharmaceutical industries.

Prior to joining Cadwalader, Karen was an associate with Goodwin Procter and Morgan & Finnegan in New York. Before becoming an attorney, she was a research associate at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Karen earned her J.D., cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law; a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Chicago; and a B.A. in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania.

Karen is admitted to practice in the State of New York and in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and she is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
