Biography

Karen T. Dunlevey is a Shareholder in the Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio, offices of Jackson Lewis P.C. She focuses her practice on employment litigation.

Ms. Dunlevey has successfully defended her clients in a wide variety of employment litigation matters including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, contract disputes, intentional torts, wage and hour disputes and enforcement of non-compete agreements. Ms. Dunlevey additionally advises her clients on litigation avoidance through the development and implementation of effective employment policies, procedures and contracts. She has been certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Specialist in Labor and Employment Law since 2002.

The Kentucky Supreme Court has held that continued employment alone is not valid consideration for non-compete agreements. In Charles T. Creech, Inc. v. Brown, 2014 Ky. LEXIS 233 (Ky. 2014), Donald E. Brown was employed by Charles T. Creech, Inc. for over 18 years before he was asked to sign a non-compete agreement in 2006.
