Karl Milde is a registered patent attorney representing clients in a full range of intellectual property matters. His clients include individual inventors with amazing ideas, emerging companies whose technology is crucial to their business, and multi-national corporations with large patent and trademark portfolios. Karl has had extensive experience in obtaining U.S. and foreign protection of inventions and trademarks, enforcing and licensing patents and trademarks, and avoiding infringement of competitors' patent and trademark rights. He has assisted clients in evaluating intellectual property assets and counseling on, structuring, negotiating and implementing licensing and collaboration agreements.
Karl commenced his career in intellectual property as a Patent Examiner in the computer group of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He later served as Director of Patents for Siemens Corporation, the U.S. subsidiary of Siemens AG. After leaving Siemens, he co-founded the IP law firm of Milde & Hoffberg, LLP, before joining Eckert Seamans.
In addition to practicing law, Karl is an inventor himself, having patented numerous advances in electronic music, motor vehicle electronics and vertical take-off and landing aircraft. He is also a writer, having penned and published a series of children's books about a young inventor and detective named "Jason" as well as adult thriller novels entitled "The Commuter Train" and "The Aircraft." Karl is currently working on his third novel, "The Tractor-Trailer," about a modern-day "Lone Ranger."
