Kassandra has been practicing broad-based commercial real estate for more than a decade, emphasizing leasing and lending for small and large businesses. She has been growing her lending practice by representing regional banks in real estate lending transactions. This practice enhances her representation of commercial real estate buyers and sellers. She also counsels publicly traded real estate investment trusts (REITs) in leasing and tenant relations transactions.
A member of the Real Estate, Development & Construction team, Kassandra represents clients in their general counsel needs, including entity formation and structuring, acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, construction and land-use issues, financing and other commercial real estate matters.
Before joining the firm, Kassandra was a partner at Brown McCarroll. She also was chief arborist for the City of Dallas and participated in planning, development and land-use issues as a part of the Sustainable Development and Construction Department (formerly Economic Development Department).

•Negotiated contract for sale of tenanted office building, tenant estoppels in connection therewith, defeasance of original collateral under encumbering loan documents necessitated by sale, and condemnation proceedings during sale's due diligence and closing periods.
•Advised in the re-platting, preparation of restrictive covenants and sale of building sites in a Houston industrial park.
•Represented lenders on loans to site developers, including acquisition, construction and mini-perm financing.
•Represented regional bank in lending take-out loans to a Texas borrower for rehabilitation, tenant improvements and leasing commissions for multiple properties throughout Texas. Loans were complicated by title and survey issues and the incapacitation of the borrower's principal and guarantor shortly before closing.
•Negotiated partnership agreement for a newly formed Texas limited partnership for acquisition of the assets of a landscape design and construction company in Austin. Also advised in the purchase of those assets from the company's family founders and in federal loan financing the client's equity contribution to the limited partnership.
•Represented water-service provider for oil and gas companies in the acquisition and due diligence of new sites, formation of new entities to hold the sites, and management agreements to maintain and operate the sites.
