Background
Kate Menear is an associate in our Toronto office and a member of the Commercial Litigation Group. She was admitted to the Ontario Bar in February 2002 and graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2000. Prior to entering law school, she received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of King's College, Dalhousie University in 1995, majoring in International Development Studies.
Areas of Practice
Kate's practice encompasses a range of civil litigation matters with a specific focus on complex commercial litigation, securities litigation, injunctions and interlocutory remedies (including Anton Piller orders), shareholder disputes and auditors and accounting negligence actions.
Professional Experience
Kate has appeared as counsel before the Ontario Court of Appeal, Ontario Divisional Court and Superior Court of Justice. She has attended at motions, appeals, mediations and trials. Kate regularly advises large Canadian corporations in respect of a wide range of corporate and commercial disputes, including contractual disputes and negligence.

Co-author of section on class actions for the "Litigation and Mediation" chapter of the Ultimate Corporate Counsel Guide, created in partnership by CCH Canadian Limited with the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (2006).
