Katharine Field focuses her practice on labor and employment matters. Ms. Field has experience representing management in a wide variety of matters, including employment litigation and counseling, traditional labor issues and OSHA compliance. Ms. Field regularly participates in labor arbitrations as first chair counsel, interacts with the EEOC and state agencies representing employers' positions, advises employers regarding employee handbooks and policies, and drafts motions, briefs, discovery and legal memoranda in actions involving employment discrimination.
During law school, Ms. Field was an Associate Symposium Editor of the Georgia State University Law Review and was selected to be a Pupil of the Bleckley Inn of Court. She served as chair of the annual Public Interest Law Association (PILA) Auction and participated as an inaugural member of the Health Law Partnership (HELP) Clinic. She was recently selected to participate in the Arts Leaders of Metro Atlanta 2010 Leadership Class.

Employment counseling for clients, Advise clients on day to day compliance with all laws governing the employer-employee relationship, including situations involving state fair employment practice laws, Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Labor and employment litigation for a provider of technology solutions to the financial world, Represented a provider of technology solutions to the financial world against employment discrimination lawsuits and charges of employment discrimination; counseled employer regarding federal and state employment laws.
Class action litigation against benefits administrator, Represented a major third-party Benefits Administrator in a purported class action suit by a class of plaintiffs alleging improper recording of phone conversations. The case was filed in the Central District of California. The plaintiffs alleged a violation of privacy claim as well as violations of the California Invasion of Privacy Act. Defendants filed necessary documents challenging the appropriateness of the class, took various depositions and vigorously defended the case. The case settled on terms favorable to the defendant on the eve of motion hearing.
OSHA litigation for construction employees, Represented a number of construction employers and general contractors in matters involving alleged major violations of the Occupational Safety and Health Act. Applied nuanced of Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission law to facts to successfully resolve cases in the clients favor, including on occasion convincing the Secretary of Labor to withdraw the citations and complaint.
Preparation and implementation of employment policies and procedures, Advise clients in the preparation and implementation of employment policies and procedures.
