Katie Conlon is a counsel with the firm, practicing in the areas of debt finance, financial services, corporate and bankruptcy law.
Katie has extensive experience in a wide range of complex structured finance transactions that are securitized through the capital markets. Her practice includes the issuance of nonconsolidation opinions and true sale opinions on behalf of bankruptcy-remote special purpose entities. Katie represents commercial real estate borrowers in connection with the financings of hotels, shopping malls, office buildings, apartment buildings, independent living facilities and other properties.
She has also represented banks and other financial institutions in connection with regulatory filings, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures of bank branches and assets, lending transactions and general corporate matters. Katie's M&A experience also includes the representation of clients in the biopharmaceutical, telecommunications and manufacturing industries.
Katie's bankruptcy experience has included the representation of creditors, debtors and purchasers of assets in business bankruptcy cases.
Before Edwards Wildman
Prior to joining the firm, Katie was a Staff Attorney for the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and a Law Clerk to United States Bankruptcy Judge Joan N. Feeney. She also served as a Special Assistant Attorney General with the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office and has several years of experience in the insurance industry.

Katie is an elected member of the Board of Selectmen in the Town of Milton, Massachusetts, where she previously chaired the Warrant (Finance) Committee. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton, Inc. since 2007. Katie has served on the boards of other local non-profit institutions and as a community volunteer with various organizations.
Edwards Wildman Team Advises on Refinancing of One Channel Center Project in Boston
A team of Edwards Wildman attorneys recently closed on a $190m term loan and $50m in mezzanine financing for a joint venture composed of affiliates of Ares Management LLC and CV Properties LLC, secured by the One Channel Center building (leased by State Street Bank) and the Channel Center Garage in South Boston.
