Kate works with large health systems, hospitals, individual physicians, and other types of healthcare providers including durable medical equipment suppliers and home health agencies. In addition, Kate has provided advice and assistance to pharmacy benefit manager clients with regard to Medicare Part D issues. She routinely advises clients on regulatory compliance and reimbursement/repayment matters relating to the Stark Law, the Anti-kickback Statute, the False Claims Act, and Medicare and State Medicaid payment statutes and regulations. Kate has assisted with sales and acquisitions of hospitals and physician practices. Kate is experienced in drafting and negotiating hospital-physician affiliation documents including employment agreements and professional services agreements. Kate has also assisted in the representation of healthcare providers in civil and criminal fraud investigations and self-disclosures with the OIG and DOJ, investigations and handled hearings before State licensing Boards and administrative appeals before Medicare administrative law judges and the Provider Reimbursement Review Board.
