Mr. Whitmore is a member of Venable's Real Estate practice group, with experience representing clients in the financing, acquisition, management and disposition of commercial real property. He has also represented lending institutions in the management and disposition of loans, including workouts, modifications and foreclosures.
In addition, Mr. Whitmore has significant experience assisting clients with legislative, administrative and regulatory issues during all phases of the real estate development process, including land planning, zoning, subdivision, permitting and associated administrative appeals.
Activities
During law school, Mr. Whitmore served as Notes and Comments Editor for the University of Maryland Law Journal of Race, Religion, Gender, and Class. His article, "Shifting Toward Balance, Not Conservatism: The Court's Interpretation of the Lemon Test's Legislative Intent Prong and Reaction From the Electorate," was published in Volume 7 of this journal.
Mr. Whitmore is currently active in the Baltimore County Bar Association, State & Local Laws/Zoning Committee, Urban Land Institute and the Greater Baltimore Economic Forum.

Honors
Mr. Whitmore was a co-recipient of the 2008 Community Scholar award for outstanding assistance to a Maryland community or neighborhood. Based on his work in the community, Mr. Whitmore was also awarded the Charles J. & Christine Wirz Scholarship by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
