Kelly Alhadeff-Black focuses her legal practice on land use entitlements, environmental law and real estate for clients in a wide array of industries including vineyards and wineries, major homebuilders and land developers. She works with developers and land owners on entitlement and processing issues including negotiations of project agreements and interfacing with city and county officials. Kelly handles a broad spectrum of environmental issues including negotiations under the California Environmental Quality Act and matters involving global climate change and sustainable building standards. Recently, Kelly: · Represented a winery in negotiations of a settlement agreement with an adjoining landowner over issues of project compatibility and potential encroachments. · Represented developers of condominium projects and secured entitlement approvals from various jurisdictions in Riverside County, California. · Negotiated and drafted a comprehensive county ordinance on behalf of a multi-use company. · Assisted with the drafting and negotiating of conservation easements on behalf of a homebuilder. · Negotiated and drafted tribal mitigation and monitoring agreements on behalf of a land developer. Kelly has worked extensively with for-profit and not-for-profit companies on all aspects of corporate transactions and other entity formation and governance issues. Prior to joining Buchanan, Kelly was an associate with Alhadeff & Solar, LLP, a San Diego-based commercial law firm where she handled a variety of matters including business services, commercial insolvency, environmental, estate planning, government regulation, land use, litigation, municipal law, real estate and water. Kelly previously taught oral advocacy as an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Law.
