Kenneth Slaughter represents private and public clients in public policy and government relations matters. Mr. Slaughter also has established a broad practice representing government enterprises in a broad range of issues, including, fiscal, governance, contracting, labor and employment issues. Mr. Slaughter also has advised private interests on government participation in real estate and other business transactions.
As a former corporate general counsel, Mr. Slaughter brings sensitivity and understanding to clients' requirements for effective representation.
Representative Clients
Mr. Slaughter's private clients include Marriott, Rappaport Companies, Amerigroup Corporation, Associated Builders and Contractors of Metropolitan Washington and CareFirst. In the public sector, Mr. Slaughter represents the City Council of the City of Detroit, DC Housing Authority, DC Public Schools, University of the District of Columbia and DC Water and Sewer Authority.
Significant Matters
Mr. Slaughter negotiated groundbreaking labor agreements with public employees at the DC Water Authority and DC Public Schools' Division of Transportation.
Activities
Mr. Slaughter serves on the firm's Management Committee. He also is director of several community organizations: SEED Charter School, Heads Up, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and Venture Philanthropy Partners.
Mr. Slaughter belongs to the National Bar Association and the International Association of Gaming Attorneys. His bar activities include the D.C. Affairs Committee and the Labor and Employment Committee.
