Background
Kent Kufeldt is a partner in our Vancouver and Calgary offices. Kent was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1989 and he graduated from the University of Toronto Law School in 1988. Prior to law school, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Calgary in 1985.
Prior to joining Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG), Kent practised with a large international firm, headquartered in Calgary, where he was the chair of the Securities practice group.

Professional Experience
· Kent's practice focuses on public issuers and underwriters in public and private debt and equity financings, initial public offerings and cross border financing transactions.
· Significant experience with merger, acquisition and reorganization transactions acting for both acquiring companies and target companies in respect of hostile takeovers and negotiated acquisitions.
· Involved in a number of innovative transactions including acting as counsel to the issuer in respect of the first "new generation" royalty trusts.
· Acted as counsel in the first corporate to trust conversion.
· Acted as counsel to the trustee in connection with the first hostile takeover of a trust.
