Kent's litigation practice focuses on commercial litigation, toxic torts, business conduct, agribusiness, regulatory compliance, biotechnology and patent infringement.
He has an extensive background and expertise in production agriculture, derived from his in-the-field experience as well as his work in the laboratory. Before attending law school, Kent obtained a bachelor's degree in Agronomy and a master's degree in Weed Science. He has authored and presented over 25 abstracts and conducted over 300 field trials, including those related to weed control in cotton, corn and rice. This work is in addition to his experience with crop production and retail sales in the family business where he dealt with cotton, corn, soybean, rice, wheat, sorghum and other merchandise such as fertilizer, fungicides, scouting and custom application services. Kent's combination of agricultural and legal experience provides an in-depth and unique knowledge base to serve the needs of agribusiness and biotechnology-focused clients.
