Kevin Andrew Marks

Kevin serves a wide array of clients and their insurers, including drilling contractors, producers of petroleum products, shipbuilders, stevedoring companies and manufacturers. Other clients include grocers, hospitals and personal service providers. In addition to representing those clients’ interests in courts and administrative forums throughout the country, Kevin routinely counsels business and industry groups in his areas of practice. He regularly provides seminars for insurance adjusters and third party administrators. He has lectured at the Annual Longshore Conference and taught continuing legal education to fellow attorneys. He has been honored by his colleagues with a Martindale-Hubbell “A-V” rating, which is awarded to lawyers possessing the very highest levels of skill and integrity.

Kevin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Rhodes College in 1990, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1993. Prior to joining Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith, he was an Assistant District Attorney in Orleans Parish, Louisiana, where he was a senior felony trials attorney. As a prosecutor, he served the people of New Orleans by securing convictions of violent criminals, and tried 75 jury trials and more than 100 bench trials.

Outside the practice of law, Kevin is active in the New Orleans community and enjoys coordinating and coaching youth sports. Kevin is a member of the American, Louisiana and New Orleans Bar Associations, the Bar Association of the Federal Fifth Circuit, the Defense Research Institute, and the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute. He is married to Maria Garcia Marks, a far more attractive lawyer, and the proud father of three sons, Quentin, Christian and Nathaniel.
