Kinley I. Engvalson was born in Long Beach, California, February 19, 1956, but grew up in a suburb of Chicago. After he graduated from high school in 1974, his parents retired and relocated the family to Southwest Florida. Kinley attended Edison Community College where he was elected Vice-President of the Student Government and President of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He received a Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship to Florida Atlantic University, graduating with a B.A. in History in 1978. He graduated from the University of Miami Law School in 1981.
After Law School, he worked with the Public Defender's Office in Fort Myers and LaBelle, from 1982 to 1986. Since then, his legal practice has included Personal Injury, Family Law, Criminal Law, Foreclosures, and Probate. He has been the owner and managing partner of Engvalson & Associates, P.A., formerly known as Roberts & Engvalson, since 1995, with the primary practice being in marital and family law, estate planning and probate.
He is a past President of the Lee County Bar Association, & the Fort Myers Kiwanis Club, and remains an active member of each. In addition, he has served through the years with numerous other community service organizations. He is a member of Riverside Baptist Church.
He is the father of four children, Jennifer, Rob, Tim, and Zack.
