Kirsten Thompson is Counsel in our Litigation Group in Toronto. Her practice focuses on written advocacy and opinions, particularly in the areas of complex business disputes, health and biosciences, privacy, and technology.'

Ms. Thompson drafts arguments for use in the Supreme Court of Canada, all levels of the Federal, Ontario and Quebec courts, administrative tribunals and commercial arbitrations. She has also appeared before the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and has been counsel in matters before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Ms. Thompson regularly speaks and writes on substantive matters of law and procedure, as well as being a regular contributor to a variety of legal and popular magazines.

She has written or co-written several articles, most recently:

Ms. Thompson received her LL.B. from Queen's University in 1998, where she graduated with a number of awards and distinctions, and her LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2007. Prior to obtaining her law degrees, she obtained her B.Sc. from the University of Calgary and her B. Journalism (Hons.) from Carleton University.

Ms. Thompson was called to the Ontario bar in 2000. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association and the Advocates' Society. She is also on the Board of Directors of Pride at Work Canada.
