Originally formed in 1982, Krause & Ferris, a general partnership for the practice of law located in Annapolis, Maryland, provides wide range of legal services on a regional and national basis. The firm's primary focus is in Maryland, principally in the Anne Arundel County and Baltimore regions, although Lynn Thomas Krause, one of the partners, is also admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C., and William M. Ferris, another partner, has handled military and other federal cases throughout the United States.

Krause & Ferris engages in state and federal litigation involving family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, child visitation, adoption, marital property issues, and alimony, admiralty, automobile lemon law cases, criminal defense, employment and employment discrimination suits, tax disputes, education law, health law, real property disputes, tort cases, zoning matters, and military cases, including both administrative hearings and courts-martial. The firm also engages extensively in appellate litigation, both state and federal, and has an active banking, real estate settlement, and transactional practice, including representing numerous small businesses. The partnership also has considerable tax and estate planning expertise.

The attorneys at Krause & Ferris have a diverse range of business and professional experiences. Both partners have served on active duty in the United States Navy and on the staff of the United States Naval Academy. Lynn Krause, a graduate of the University of Southern California and Georgetown law school, is a former President of the Anne Arundel County, Maryland, Bar Association, a former member of the Board of Directors of the Maryland State Bar Association, the current Chairman of the Board of the Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency, and a former member and Vice Chairman of the Anne Arundel County Cable TV Advisory Panel. William Ferris, a graduate of the Naval Academy and holder of J.D. and LL.M. (Taxation) degrees from the University of Baltimore, is a member of the Maryland Commission on Judicial Disabilities, an adjunct professor at both the University of Baltimore School of Law and Anne Arundel Community College, a former member and President of the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners, a former Hearing Officer for the Anne Arundel County Board of Education, and a former Deputy Zoning Hearing Examiner for Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The firm also employs Helen Krause, a paralegal, who concentrates on real estate, probate, and other transactional matters
