Kyle A. Young joined Adams and Reese in 2012 as an Associate in the firm's Nashville office.
Practicing law since 2009, Kyle concentrates his practice in labor and employment, as well as transportation and logistics.
Kyle's labor and employment practice includes various issues in employment litigation, including workplace safety. In his transportation practice, he negotiates and drafts various transportation agreements, including motor carrier/shipper agreements, third party logistics (3PL) agreements, a variety of intermodal agreements, and warehousing agreements. Kyle also serves transportation providers and customers of all sizes on transportation safety regulations and compliance matters with the Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Kyle's other representative experience and accomplishments include:
· Named one of Nashville's "Top 30 Under 30" by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in 2010.
· Received the Gressman-Pollitt Award for Best Appellee in Oral Argument while attending North Carolina School of Law.
· Served as the Articles and Notes Editor for the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal.
In the legal and business community, Kyle serves as an active member of the Transportation Lawyers Association.
Kyle received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law, in 2009, and earned his B.A. from Wake Forest University, in 2006. He is a former college baseball player and letterman for the Demon Deacons. He was a member of the All-ACC Academic Honor Roll.
In his free time, Kyle enjoys attending sports events, particularly Wake Forest and LSU athletics, and spending time with his family, traveling, and reading historical non-fiction.
Among the people Kyle most admires is his father, Ken Young, a small business owner, who took great pride in building lifelong relationships with his customers and vendors. He understood that adding value for his clients meant more than simply doing his job effectively; instead, it meant understanding his customers' businesses and, as a result, offering thoughtful and realistic minded approaches to solving their problems. Kyle employs a similar "real world approach" to legal questions.
