Biography

L. Geoffrey Young joined Adams and Reese in 2010 following the firm's expansion into St. Petersburg. He has been practicing law since 1974 and is a Partner in the firm's Transactions and Corporate Advisory Services Practice Group.

Geoff represents national, regional and community lenders in workouts, foreclosures, receiverships, loan redocumentation and loan sales and his practice includes structuring and documenting loan workouts, resolution of bank operation issues, defense and prosecution of lender liability cases, insurance defense regarding land title issues and realtor and broker issues in state court matters.

He has experience in commercial and bank litigation before all state and federal courts in Florida and has litigated on behalf of a large restaurant chain in regard to suppliers. He represents investors in locating and acquiring portfolios and specific assets.

Geoff is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

His other representative experience includes:

· Recognized by lenders for experience in complex loan workouts.

· Represents investors in acquisitions of assemblage of land and business portfolios; represents lenders and operators of business aircraft; and represents lenders and operators of marine industries.

· Co-author of Florida Mortgage Foreclosures and has lectured on workouts and foreclosures for Professional Education Systems, Inc. and the Fourth Institute on Real Property Law at the University of Miami Law Center.

He received his J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law in 1974, and his B.A. from Claremont McKenna College in 1971.

In his spare time, Geoff is an avid fan and researcher of underwater archaeology. He is a sponsor of the Archaeology Department at the Universidad Autonimo de Yucatan which is exploring the underground water systems for Mayan artifacts. The finds in these flooded cave systems are changing the history of the Maya.

Geoff's father, Stanley Young, has been the most influential person to his career. In the international oil industry, Stanley set standards in international business ethics.
