L. Thomas Forbes, Q.C., Q.C.

L. Thomas Forbes is counsel in our Litigation Group in Toronto. His practice is focused on the representation of our clients before courts and tribunals, particularly with respect to medicine, education, professional organizations, police services and human rights.

Mr. Forbes is a member of both the Canadian Bar Association and the International Bar Association. He has written extensively on medical legal issues and is a regular participant in seminars and events dealing with international legal matters relating to the international legal community, professional issues and human rights. Mr. Forbes received his B.Comm. from the University of Ottawa in 1960 and his LLB from Osgoode Hall in 1963. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1965, the Alberta bar in 1981, and appointed Queen's Counsel in 1975.

Mr. Forbes is certified as a Specialist in civil litigation by the Law Society of Upper Canada, the governing body of the Ontario legal profession. He appears in all editions of the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, a guide to the leading law firms and practitioners in Canada, as a leading lawyer in the area of medical negligence. Mr. Forbes also appears in the 2004 edition of the International Who's Who of Product Liability Defense.
