Lance Shaner, Ph.D.

His active commitments included participation in the Student Bar Association and the Intellectual Property Student Association. He was also a judicial intern for Justice Sam Nuchia, the Texas Court of Appeals, First Judicial District. Prior to law school, Dr. Shaner earned his Ph.D. in microbiology and molecular genetics from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. While completing this degree, he was a graduate research assistant in the area of microbiology and molecular genetics. His research focused on the genetics and biochemistry of molecular chaperones in the model eukaryote Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Dr. Shaner received his B.S. in microbiology, with a minor in chemistry, from the University of Illinois.
