Lance Williams is an associate in the Vancouver office of Davis LLP. Lance joined Davis in 2008 having previously practiced with the Edmonton office of an Alberta-based firm.
Lance is a member of the Business Solutions and Restructuring Group, and the National Banking and Financial Services Group. His practice includes advising and representing trustees, receivers, monitors, debtors and creditors on insolvency and restructuring issues under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act. Lance has experience in various sectors including mining, real estate, oil & gas, retail, and industrial construction.
Lance also acts for lenders and debtors on foreclosures and other creditor's remedies matters.
In addition, Lance advises borrowers and lenders on all aspects of secured lending transactions across Canada and those with cross-border components.
As a member of the bars of British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan, Lance regularly advises clients in all three provinces and on multi-jurisdictional matters.
Professional Experience
- Acting for debtors, creditors, receivers, trustees and monitors in a number of restructurings under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, as well as in foreclosures and other creditor's remedies matters.
- Acting for a variety of financial institutions, including Schedule I and II chartered banks, in local and multi-jurisdictional secured lending transactions, with a particular specialty in matters concerning the Personal Property Security Act.
- Appeared before all levels of court in both British Columbia and Alberta, and in the Court of Queen's Bench for Saskatchewan.
