Larry J. Stroble, former managing partner of Barnes & Thornburg LLP, concentrates his practice primarily in state and local tax matters, federal tax controversies, and federal tax planning. He has represented clients in numerous cases before the Internal Revenue Service, state and local taxing authorities and state and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court. He is also active in counseling clients in the planning of transactions from a state and local tax perspective. Mr. Stroble is a former chairman of the Taxation Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association and is active in the taxation sections of the American and Indiana State Bar Associations. He is a frequent speaker at seminars and institutes on state, local, and federal tax matters and has authored several articles on taxation. Mr. Stroble received his B.A. degree in 1971 and his J.D. and M.B.A. in 1976, from Indiana University-Bloomington. He joined Barnes & Thornburg in 1976 and became partner in 1983. Mr. Stroble is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Claims, U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, Indiana Supreme Court, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
