Mr. Latherow is President-Elect of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. He has been chosen three times, including for the year 2011, as one of the top 100 attorneys in Illinois by Illinois Super Lawyers. He has also been chosen by the American Trial Lawyers Association (ATLA) as one of the top 100 trial lawyers in the country. Mr. Latherow began his legal career with significant trial experience at the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, where he was promoted to the Felony Trial Division within two years of being hired. There he prosecuted cases in the highly visible Repeat Offender Trial Courts where he tried 25 jury trials to verdict, including a death penalty case. After nearly six years serving the public, Mr. Latherow entered private practice in 1982.
