Laura successfully represents clients in a variety of labor and employment matters in judicial and administrative proceedings. She has prevailed in cases before federal district and appeals courts for employers in various facets of employment law, including cases arising under Title VII, ADA, ADEA and FMLA, and has obtained summary judgment for clients on claims of employment discrimination. She also has successfully defended employers in actions before the National Labor Relations Board, including unfair labor practice charges and representation petitions, and in matters before the Division of Employment Security and Department of Labor.
In addition, Laura has obtained favorable resolutions in administrative cases before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Missouri Commission on Human Rights, the Illinois Department of Human Rights and various administrative agencies across the U.S.
She regularly counsels clients on employment-related matters, including drafting personnel policies, employment contracts, severance agreements and employee handbooks, and advises employers concerning regulatory issues, including wage and hour and plant closing laws. She also routinely conducts training for human resources professionals and company management related to harassment, discrimination and various other employment issues.
