Laura is an associate in the Insurance and Reinsurance Department, where she represents primary and excess insurance carriers in complex claims and coverage matters. Laura provides assistance and analysis in a number of coverage areas, including professional liability, directors and officers liability, and commercial general liability. Laura also has a wide range of litigation experience in other types of cases, including employment discrimination, products liability, and accounting malpractice claims.
•Laura drafted a summary judgment motion on behalf of a primary insurer in an insurance coverage dispute arising from material misrepresentations in the insured's application for a lawyers' professional liability policy.
•Laura recently drafted a mediation brief on behalf of an excess insurer in an insurance coverage dispute arising out of the collapse of an investment fund in which alleged investor losses exceeded $1 billion.
•Laura researched and briefed various issues relating to the applicability of California's horizontal exhaustion rule on behalf of an excess insurer in coverage litigation arising from alleged defects in a large-scale construction project.
•Laura obtained summary judgment for an insurer in a multimillion dollar insurance coverage dispute involving law enforcement officers liability policies and arising from allegations of wrongful imprisonment and malicious prosecution by a state municipality.
•Laura secured a favorable result for an insurance client in the arbitration of a complex insurance coverage dispute arising from allegedly deficient work performed by an architectural firm in connection with a resort and casino development project.
•Laura drafted a motion to dismiss the counterclaim of general contractor against insurer in federal declaratory judgment action seeking rescission of commercial general liability insurance policy based on material misrepresentations by the insured.
•Laura successfully arbitrated an insurance coverage dispute arising from claims brought by a surety against an insured for unauthorized issuance of performance and payment.
Before Edwards Wildman
Prior to joining the firm, Laura worked at a Boston and Providence litigation firm, where she focused her practice in insurance coverage litigation and professional liability defense. During law school, Laura excelled in Boston University School of Law's Albers, Stone, and Esdaile Moot Court Competitions. She went on to serve as Director of the Stone Moot Court Competition in her third year. Laura also gained valuable experience in law school as an intern with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.

Laura is an active member of her community. She serves as a member of the Development Committee of Esperanza Academy in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and is also a member of the Planning Committee of the Esplanade Association in Boston. Laura has also served as a volunteer with the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. In her spare time, Laura enjoys traveling, horseback riding, sailing, and spending time with her family and friends.
