Laura practices in the Litigation Management Group, where she focuses on employment litigation. She has handled cases, including class actions, involving employment discrimination and wage and hour disputes before various tribunals nationwide. Laura also has extensive experience counseling employers in all facets of the employment relationship, including leaves of absence, reasonable accommodation issues, investigation of workplace harassment, and policies and procedures.
Laura was recognized as a "Rising Star" in the field of employment defense litigation by Boston Magazine and Law & Politics in November 2007, April 2008, October 2010, and October 2011. She is also a graduate of the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination's Certified Train-the-Trainer program in Preventing Harassment in the Workplace.
Notable Experience
Laura prevailed at summary judgment on behalf of a Fortune 10 employer charged with breaching a collective bargaining agreement in violation of § 301 of the Labor Relations Management Act, and obtained an affirmance of the decision on appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
ˇ After a full hearing at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, Laura obtained a decision dismissing an employee's claim that her employer discriminated against her on the basis of her race.
ˇ Laura has achieved favorable results for employers in forums across the country defending against discrimination claims by employees.

Laura served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard Owen in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Laura also practiced employment law at firms in New York City and Boston prior to joining Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP.
