Lauren A. Eber is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where she is a member of the firm's Litigation Department. She has experience in a wide range of business litigation, including antitrust, securities, class action, crisis management, white collar defense, environmental, and appellate law. Ms. Eber has worked extensively on high-profile matters in high-tech industries.
Ms. Eber's recent victories include: winning a decisive summary judgment victory for a Swiss bank, defending the institution against $1.7 billion in claims involving allegations of tax fraud and account mismanagement; obtaining 24 defense verdicts in an environmental nuisance action, following an eight-week jury trial, thereby shielding the client from exposure to as many as 10,000 related lawsuits; and upholding the constitutionality of a statute that resulted in extinguishing an estimated $190 million in refund liability associated with transporting oil through the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System.
Ms. Eber received her law degree in 2006 from the University of Southern California, where she served as Executive Senior Editor of the Southern California Law Review. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles cum laude in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and a minor in Spanish. Ms. Eber graduated as Valedictorian of the UCLA School of Communications.
Before attending law school, Ms. Eber worked in the offices of L.A. Mayor James K. Hahn, U.S. Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, and California Senator John Vasconcellos. Her publications include, "Waiting for Watergate: The Long Road to FEC Reform," 79 S. Cal. L. Rev. 1155 (2006). Ms. Eber currently serves on Gibson Dunn's Diversity Committee.
Ms. Eber is admitted to practice law in the State of California.
