Lauren Kim joined Crowell & Moring in 2006 as an associate in the Health Care and Corporate practice groups. Her corporate practice includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate compliance and governance for U.S. and international corporations and securities transactions. She works with clients in a variety of industries, including commodities futures, technology and health care.
In her health care practice, she handles a wide range of regulatory matters affecting health care entities such as managed care companies, pharmacy benefit managers and trade associations. Lauren counsels these entities on a variety of federal and state regulatory compliance matters, including licensing, reimbursement and contractual issues. Utilizing her corporate experience, she reviews and drafts various types of contracts for healthcare entities, including provider participation agreements, pharmacy benefit management services agreements, operating agreements and various physician agreements. Lauren also advises clients on HIPAA privacy and security matters.
Lauren received a B.S., with highest distinction, in Health Policy and Administration from the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her J.D. in 2006 from Harvard Law School.
Prior to attending law school, Lauren was a consultant with Arthur Andersen, LLP in their healthcare consulting group. She also worked in the healthcare consulting group at BearingPoint (formerly KPMG Consulting) as a senior management analyst. Lauren is a member of the District of Columbia bar. She is also a member of the American Health Lawyers Association.
