Laurie practises Employment Law. She provides advice to, and advocates on behalf of, employers on all aspects of the employment relationship, including drafting employment agreements, drafting and enforcing restrictive covenants, discipline and dismissal issues, employment standards, and human rights complaints. She is also involved in workplace safety matters and workplace investigations. Laurie has represented clients before the provincial and federal human rights commissions, the Superior Court of Ontario, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Employment Standards Branch of the Ontario Ministry of Labour, and in mediations and grievance arbitrations.
Laurie has authored articles on employment issues, which have appeared in prominent publications including Lexpert magazine, Workplace Magazine, HR Professional Magazine and Canadian Corporate Counsel magazine. She is co-author of The Canadian Human Rights Act: Quick Reference.
Laurie sits on the board of directors and human resources committee of Fife House, a charitable organization providing supportive housing to people living with HIV/AIDS in Toronto.
