Professional Experience
Mr. Reilly has for more than 35 years represented Fortune 500 and local companies in all aspects of real estate transactions in New Jersey and throughout the United States. He has drafted and negotiated leases on behalf of tenants covering millions of square feet of space from individual offices to industrial facilities, shopping centers, and office parks. He has also represented corporations and developers as landlord in the leasing and subleasing of all types of commercial space. Mr. Reilly has represented institutional lenders in mortgage financing transactions throughout the country and also corporate borrowers in the negotiation and closing of mortgage finance transactions. Other types of matters in which he has been heavily involved include real estate joint ventures, the sale of land by individuals and estates to developers, and the representation of corporations and developers in the acquisition of land and existing projects for development and occupancy. Mr. Reilly also frequently serves as local New Jersey counsel to national lenders or borrowers in multistate financing transactions.
Mr. Reilly also serves as a consultant to the firm's litigation department in real estate litigation matters, including workouts, lease and joint venture disputes, and tax appeals.
Representative Matters
· Recent projects for which Mr. Reilly has served as lead counsel include the sales by several major corporations of all or portions of their headquarters sites; the purchase by other major corporations of headquarters, warehouse/distribution, and office sites; synthetic lease transactions; and the negotiation of leases for office and industrial sites in New Jersey and other parts of the country.
· 2004: Mr. Reilly represented Citigroup in its leasing of five office buildings in the Warren Corporate Center totaling over 750,000 s.f. of space from SJP Properties
· 2003: Mr. Reilly represented the owner of the Spackenkill Plaza Shopping Center in Poughkeepsie, NY, in its lease-out to several national retailers
· 2003: Mr. Reilly represented Dendrite International in a sublease of the Somerset Financial Center (two buildings totaling 233,00 s.f.) in Bedminster, NJ from Pfizer Inc.
· 2002: Mr. Reilly represented AT&T Corp. in the sale of its corporate headquarters and learning center in Basking Ridge, NJ, to Pharmacia; the largest real estate transaction in New Jersey in 2002
· 2001: Mr. Reilly represented Schering Plough Corporation in the purchase of the former Ciba Geigy facility in Summit, NJ from Novartis; one of the largest real estate transactions in New Jersey in 2001
